Project Time Management::
It takes care of timely completion of the Project.
It includes develop schedule and control the same leads to successful completion of the project.
Based on the deliverables defined in the WBS ie, Scope base line, Activity has to be defined.
It means, Work package has to be decomposed into Activities. Out put of Define Activity Process is
a. Activity List
b. Activity Attributes
c. Milestone list
After defining the activities, it has to be sequenced based on the start date and end date or durations.
There are many ways to do that. One of the method is schedule diagram or Network Schedule Diagram.
Needs to identify the Critical Path. Critical path means, In the network path , Sequence of Activities which taking longest duration, also used to determine shortest possible project completion date.
Eg:
A - > B -> C > H = 20 Days
A - >D -> E> H = 27 Days
A - > F - >G - > 13 Days
Critical path is A - > D-> E = 27 Days (Which is Shortest possibility date to complete the project). As per the above sequence, to complete the project it will take 27 days.
If any delay in this path, will affect the project schedule.
Also need to watch path closer to critical path, because, anytime, it may become Crtical path.
Float on the critical path is "Zero". Reason is, activity can't have any delay.
